Solidus (Gold, 20 mm, 4.42 g, 7 h), Constantinopolis, circa 871-886. +IҺS XRS RЄX RЄGNANTIЧM✱ Christ, nimbate, seated facing, wearing chiton, raising his right hand in benediction and holding book of Gospels in his left. Rev. bASILIOS ЄT COҺSTAҺT' AЧGG' b' Crowned facing busts of Basil, with short beard and loros, and Constantine, beardless and wearing chlamys; holding patriarchal cross between them. DOC 2. SB 1704. Good extremely fine.
